Dress for Success Houston seeks passionate and committed individuals to join its team of dedicated volunteers.
Volunteers make it possible for Dress for Success Houston to serve thousands of women each year. From mentors to instructors, the personal touch added by a volunteer is often the connection a client needs to inspire them along the path to self-sufficiency. Last year, 1,437 volunteers logged more than 17,325 hours, totaling an in-kind estimated value of $435,039.79!
Assist with PWG meetings on select Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Present valuable professional advice and share expertise with PWG members. Topics have included work/life balance, financial literacy, diversity in the workplace, workplace etiquette, building a professional network and communication skills. Help PWG members learn about nutrition, healthy lifestyle choices and fitness. Fit4Success volunteers include dieticians, nutritionists, fitness experts, fitness instructors and medical professionals.
Mentor a PWG member. Mentors share their experiences and expertise as well as give personalized attention, feedback and guidance to help PWG members make informed choices about their careers. Women2Women is a nine-month mentoring program with a commitment that begins twice a year in April and September.
Dare to Dream
Dare to Dream coaches meet with members one-on-one to provide guidance, feedback and encouragement as members work towards creating SMART goals, developing action plans, and evaluating their progress towards achieving career and personal success.
Career Center – Computer Instructor
Help women increase their professional skills by teaching a computer class. Dress for Success Houston’s Career Center offers computer classes in Microsoft Office Suite (beginning to advanced) as well as special topic workshops such as email etiquette, professional social networking, resume building and online job search strategies.
Child Watch Volunteer
Watch and engage with PWG clients’ children, ages 4 -11 years old. The child watch is open Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings during the PWG meetings.
