In the summer of 1998, Nancy Levicki put her fashion skills back to work, but this time it was not for a major retail specialty store. Nancy’s background as the couture buyer for Sakowitz was the perfect backdrop for her drive to help low-income Houston women enter the job market looking their best. Nancy, Susie Cunningham, and a small group of founding board members opened the first Dress for Success in the state of Texas.
19 years later, Dress for Success Houston has served more than 36,800 women in the Houston area. Nancy’s work, compassion and dedication to serving women have earned her many accolades. She is the recipient of the Humanitarian Award from the American Red Cross and was named a “Woman on the Move” by Texas Executive Women. Nancy was also named one of the 50 most influential women in Houston by Houston Woman Magazine and received the “Woman of Courage Award” from the Houston Chapter of Hadassah. In 2013, Nancy was named one of “Houston’s Treasures”—The Social Book’s annual recognition for Houstonians in philanthropy. Nancy was most recently named a top finalist in Houston Business Journal’s inaugural “Women Who Mean Business” award in May of 2016.
In 2010, the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce named Dress for Success the Nonprofit of the Year, and in 2012, thanks in part to Nancy’s leadership, Dress for Success Houston was highlighted and featured in the Houston Chronicle as one of Houston’s healthiest large charities. Nancy proudly accepted the Lublin Award Affiliate of the year by Dress for Success Worldwide in 2014, and in 2015, Dress for Success Houston was named the “Favorite Charity” by the Chevron Houston Marathon Foundation.

With experience in the marketing and public relations, hospitality, medical and energy fields, Lauren Levicki Courville is a focused communicator who values relationships and results. A native Houstonian, Lauren is deeply committed to community endeavors and is thrilled to be a part of the team at Dress for Success Houston.
As vice president of Dress for Success, Lauren works closely with the president to further cultivate relationships throughout the Greater Houston community. Lauren also is a big part of the future growth of Dress for Success Houston, as she engages the next generation to learn more about the agency. She also works as a team leader to develop skills and work with the staff to ensure that Dress for Success Houston continues to be a top nonprofit in the Houston community.
