In the summer of 1998, Nancy Levicki put her fashion skills back to work, but this time it was not for a major retail specialty store. Nancy’s background as the couture buyer for Sakowitz was the perfect backdrop for her drive to help low-income Houston women enter the job market looking their best. Nancy, Susie Cunningham, and a small group of founding board members opened the first Dress for Success in the state of Texas.
19 years later, Dress for Success Houston has served more than 36,800 women in the Houston area. Nancy’s work, compassion and dedication to serving women have earned her many accolades. She is the recipient of the Humanitarian Award from the American Red Cross and was named a “Woman on the Move” by Texas Executive Women. Nancy was also named one of the 50 most influential women in Houston by Houston Woman Magazine and received the “Woman of Courage Award” from the Houston Chapter of Hadassah. In 2013, Nancy was named one of “Houston’s Treasures”—The Social Book’s annual recognition for Houstonians in philanthropy. Nancy was most recently named a top finalist in Houston Business Journal’s inaugural “Women Who Mean Business” award in May of 2016.
In 2010, the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce named Dress for Success the Nonprofit of the Year, and in 2012, thanks in part to Nancy’s leadership, Dress for Success Houston was highlighted and featured in the Houston Chronicle as one of Houston’s healthiest large charities. Nancy proudly accepted the Lublin Award Affiliate of the year by Dress for Success Worldwide in 2014, and in 2015, Dress for Success Houston was named the “Favorite Charity” by the Chevron Houston Marathon Foundation.

A Milwaukee native, Stacy built a career in corporate retail as an analyst and merchandise planner before coming to Dress for Success Houston. The women in Stacy’s life instilled the power of presentation and its impact on personal confidence and success, serving as role models for her as a young woman. She is passionate about sharing this ideal with others, and works daily to ensure DFSH’s clients begin their professional journey feeling empowered and confident.
Stacy organizes and processes the tens of thousands of donations received each year. She also coordinates the agency’s suit drives, including Dress for Success Houston’s annual city-wide event Send One Suit (S.O.S.) Month in March.

The defining principles of Monica’s career are community service and learning. After graduating from Texas A&M University, Monica committed to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA at an adult literacy nonprofit. During that year she realized serving others through nonprofit organizations was where her passion lied.
In her role at Dress for Success Houston, she is able to use her strengths to implement professional and personal development programs as well as job search workshops that assist clients in achieving their goals. Before joining the Dress for Success Houston team Monica worked with high school students from underserved communities at Genesys Works and with college students and faculty at Rice University. In addition to her work at DFSH, Monica proudly serves as a Houston Food Bank & Rodeo Houston volunteer.

In 2014, Alesha joined the Dress for Success Houston team to support client services and began tracking valuable data regarding the women DFSH serves each year. Within that same year, Alesha introduced the women Veterans Program. As a veteran herself, Alesha understands the challenges women veterans face when transitioning to civilian careers. In 2019, with a more holistic-centered approach, Alesha committed to expanding the program to address unmet needs women veterans face. Women veterans are now able to attend workshops on wide-ranging topics from goal setting to coping with stress to navigating the VA.
Since 2014, Alesha has helped DFSH serve more than 1,300 women veterans. What Alesha finds most rewarding about her role is when a woman veteran joins the program, she finds a friend that can relate to her story and the challenges she has faced. Through this friendship, women veterans encourage and uplift each other while building the confidence to face their professional and personal journeys in the civilian community.
